So what do we really know about its potential for the skin?<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The skin and CBD<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cell.com\/trends\/pharmacological-sciences\/abstract\/S0165-6147(09)00107-2?_returnURL=https%3A%2F%2Flinkinghub.elsevier.com%2Fretrieve%2Fpii%2FS0165614709001072%3Fshowall%3Dtrue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The skin has an endocannabinoid system<\/a> that includes cannabinoid receptors found in various skin cells. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This system is involved in several skin-related mechanisms, including its barrier function, cell growth and maturation, as well as certain inflammatory processes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This interaction between the endocannabinoid system and the skin partly explains researchers&#8217; interest in the potential role of cannabinoids in dermatology.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><b>CBD and inflammation <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inflammation and sebum production play a role in several skin issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/25061872\/\">CBD is being studied<\/a> in particular for its anti-inflammatory activity and its sebostatic action, meaning its potential to act on sebum production.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research is thus exploring its potential interest in various skin issues, including acne, eczema and psoriasis. Some studies have produced interesting results, but research is ongoing to better understand the mechanisms and effects of CBD on the skin.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Hydration and elasticity<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research is also looking at various parameters related to skin condition, including its hydration and elasticity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some studies on preparations containing CBD have observed improvements in certain skin parameters, particularly in terms of hydration and elasticity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These results are encouraging, but they must be interpreted according to the formulation studied, the CBD concentration and the other components present in the product.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/41178006\/\"><b>Why does research continue?<\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBD and skin remain a developing field of research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initial results allow various avenues to be explored around inflammation, sebum production, hydration and elasticity.
